Can’t believe I am already 9 days through trek. Absolutely loved the Canadian Rockies. After meeting everyone in Seattle we departed for Vancouver. There are 9 fab people on the trip, all of us wanting to see as much of Canada as we can with our awesome tour leader Jason. Apart from a very wet (especially for some) few nights in vancouver we have been incredibly lucky with sunny blue skies although chilly nights. We went to granville island market, cycled through Stanley park and saw a seal in vancouver then stayed in log cabins on a ranch in Wells Gray although i won’t be horse riding again anytime soon. My horse slipped on a rock on our ride through the woods and ended up on her knees resulting in me falling off. Only hurt my shoulder and arm which have now recovered. Next stop was the Canadian Rockies driving through the mountains such amazing scenery. Jasper and Yoho national parks were fantastic, we went up the gondola, walked to some waterfalls and a glacier, and enjoyed smores around the campfire. Went white water rafting on the kicking horse river which was so much fun, the water was freezing and our boat got stuck on a rock but we all managed to stay in the boat. Also i have been glacier walking on the Columbia ice field on the Athabasca glacier which was a fab experience. Banff is a great town which we spent time wondering around, visiting the hot springs and going out, we had a whole dance floor to ourselves lol Lake Louise and Moraine lake are stunning, turquoise blue and surrounded by mountains. We went on a hike for 4 hours giving us absolutely gorgeous views. We saw a moose and 2 black wolves which was incredible, no bear yet though. Loving campfires under the stars!
